Greetings from The Seawright's...This week has been crazier than normal. I went back to work after taking 2 weeks off to care for Will, and it did not take me long to remember how tired one's body could be after working 12+hours in the wildest ER in South Carolina...Thursday, the last night I worked...I had a Duke's Ham&Cheese sandwich thrown at me!!!! All I can tell you is, if that sandwich had landed in my cherished Venti Mocha Frappuccino with extra chocolate, I would be in jail right now...Nobody comes between me and my Starbucks!! And I boldly told the patient that before sprouting devil horns and fiery eyes. Enough of that...Will and I returned to the Augusta Burn Center on Friday and had his leg re-checked. All the way there...all 3 1/2 hours all he worried about was having 2 tiny staples removed. I tried to explain to him that it would not hurt but that was like talking to a brick wall. When I realized that he did not trust me..I called my best friend Jodi, and talked to her for about 45 minutes. She was doing her favorite household chore...the laundry!!! Once we arrived at the Burn Clinic, I realized that Friday's must be the most popular day...the lobby was full. Will was already stressed out and this made him stress out even more. He hates to wait and he just knew that it would take hours to be seen. He was ready to get those staples out and waiting just made it worse...I finally gave him some Benadryl to chill him out!!! After about an hour of waiting, they finally called his name and you could see the relief on his face. Will's nurse came into the room and he immediately ask her about the 2 staples...was it going to hurt? Will it pull my skin off? How are you going to take them out? Are you going to give me something for pain? I finally cut him off and when I turned around the nurse had her mouth open!!! She could not get a word out before he ask another question. Finally after about 5 minutes, Will settled down and they took the bandage off his leg... and it looked great. I was so happy to see how well it had healed up. The nurse and Dr.Mullins was greatly pleased as well. Then the time came to take out those staples...the room fell silent and Will's face turned to fear. The nurse brought in a hand full of supplies and Will thought she was going to need all of them to take out the staples. I thought he was going to hyperventilate!!! You would have thought the nurse brought in a chain saw to take them out. I sat down on the bed with Will and before he knew it she had took out the two little staples that had tortured him and me all the way to Augusta. All of a sudden Will said "that was it?" That did not hurt. I was speechless...I could not believe the words that just came out of his mouth. I tried to say "I told you so" but my brain was froze. Then the best news of all came....he could take a bath/shower next week. Will has not had a bath/shower since February 3rd and he has been miserable. He has used Comfort Wipes to clean up, but that is not the same. So guess what??? That is what he talked about all the way home...taking a long bath with bubbles. Lord you just can't help but love him!!!! Next week, we will see the Physcial Therapist and Dr.Mullins will take off his bandage and look at his donor site. Although it has been a long process, I am thankful that Will is making great progress. Still keep us in your prayers..

Hey girlfriend! Finally, I get an update on the details of Will from your blog. Can't seem to have a full conversation with you. Tell that Will to just chill because he has the greatest mom taking care of him! He is a lucky guy to have you! Hope you have gotten to enjoy the snow! My kids have had a ball, but Max suddenly felt the funk jumping on him at about 12 today and has been in bed ever since. Oh, Lord, I can't seem to get my family well. Cole finally feels better after having a belly ache since Tuesday. Call me or text me when you can. I love you and think about you all the time. Go see my parents when you get half a chance. They need a Leigh-Leigh fix. Oh, yeah . . . I am shocked the guy that tossed the Duke's at you didn't have to receive stitches from a pen stabbing! Love you!
