Y'all are not going to believe me when I tell you the kind of weekend I had...I still can not believe it myself. My life took a 360 degree turn on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. I was visiting my best friend Jodi's parents at the hospital when I got a call from Will, my youngest son. He was at school and had a welding accident while job shadowing at a Career Center. I was half asleep when he called because I worked the night before and I had not been to bed...I was actually going out the door to get my taxes done. EMS was called and he was transported to the hospital. At first, his leg did not look that bad, but 24 hours later it looked like a piece of raw meat. We followed-up with the ER Doctors on Thursday and they advised me that he needed to see a burn specialist. So the next day we traveled to the Augusta Burn Center in Augusta Georgia. Will and I were expecting them to work their magic and put some type of burn cream on his leg and we would be on our way home. Boy!!! we were shocked when the Dr.Hussan came in the room and took one look at it and said"get him ready for surgery." I could not believe it. We were totally caught off guard. By the time I called my family and friends, Will was in surgery. Once Will was out of surgery and in recovery, I spoke with Dr.Hussan and he advised me that he needed another surgery. Right now he has cadaver skin on it..Needless to say that freaked Will out knowing he has a dead person's skin on his leg. On February 12th, Will had a follow up appointment in Augusta and we were both prepared to have his second surgery, but his leg was not "ready." They scheduled another appointment for February 19th and we were on our way back home...That is when my luck changed for the worse!!! Sit back and relax because you are not going to believe my weekend starting Friday 13th. First, my Yorkie Simba, who would have been 16 years old on Saturday,February 14th died sometime during the night in his sleep on Friday 13th. Saturday, Will and I were on our way to get our hair cut when I hit another car from behind trying to help him open his medicine. Will and I were not hurt (just my pride) and my Tahoe had to be towed. The lady I hit called EMS and she went to the hospital with neck and back pain. Her Mom came out the scene and drove her car home. After I got home from all that chaos, I realized that Robert, my husband was sick. He was in the bed with fever, chills and body aches. I took him to the hospital and he tested positive for the FLU!!! My Gosh...could anything else happen. Needless to say The Seawright's stayed in the bed all day Sunday...Nobody left the house. Can you blame me? I was ready Calgon to take me away to the Bahamas. Instead, I put my big girl panties on and continued being a wife, mother, and nurse to my family whom I love dearly.
